• Soil is cultivated and fertilized for summer planting purposes. Some fallow fields with weeds are superficially worked with tools such as rake, cultivator, disk harrow, and hoe. Some legume fields are plowed for green manure.
• Planting of all field crops and seedlings is done in suitable areas.
• Weeding, weed control in cereals, thinning, and singling in some plants are carried out in fields covered with weeds or crusted with irrigation. Newly planted crops are watered.
• All kinds of diseases that may occur in plants are treated, and necessary measures are taken. Seed treatment with pesticides is beneficial for some plants to be sown.
Fruit Growing
- The soil of fruit orchards is continuously cultivated, and along with cultivation, fertilization is also carried out.
- The uprooting, folding, and planting of seedlings continue according to the region. In some warm regions, however, planting has already concluded.
- In addition to all types of maintenance work, irrigation and hoeing continue. In some regions, grafting continues. By the end of this month, pruning work is generally completed.
- Diseases and pests observed or potentially present in gardens are controlled. The fight is stopped during the flowering period.
Vegetable Farming
- In some greenhouses, early vegetable farming activities continue. Vegetable harvest is carried out.
- Care, irrigation, and removal of seedlings in hotbeds continue.
- Preparations for vegetable fields continue throughout this month. Necessary fertilization is carried out. The fields are divided into rows and ridges.
- It is the time to transfer some vegetable seedlings from hotbeds to the fields. Summer vegetable seeds are also sown in the fields.
- After sowing vegetable seeds or transplanting seedlings, they are given a watering. In some regions, hoeing of vegetables begins. Some vegetables are thinned out.
- Precautions should be taken against any diseases and pests that may occur in vegetables.
- Some early vegetables are harvested, packaged, and sent to markets.
Viticulture
- In vineyards, spring pruning is carried out. Vines are pruned. Necessary fertilizers are applied.
- Planting of vine cuttings continues, and in some places, it continues throughout this month.
- Pruning in vineyards continues intensively. In some warm regions, tip pruning is applied. Shoots are thinned out. Grafting continues in some regions.
- Pesticide treatments are also carried out against diseases and pests.
Livestock Farming
- Necessary maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection continue in the barns.
- Animals continue to be fed in the barns where they cannot graze enough in the pastures. Towards the end of the month, barn maintenance is carried out in warm regions.
- Due to ongoing births, caution should be exercised.
- Pasture improvements are made. Grazing in pastures should be rotational. In some places, work begins on new pasture establishments.
- Protective vaccines and preventive medications are used to combat diseases and pests.
Poultry Farming
- Various maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection tasks are carried out in the poultry houses.
- Incubation continues throughout the month.
- Feeding is done through appropriate types of feed to increase productivity in chickens and ensure their health. Special attention should be paid to chicks.
- Protective vaccines and preventive medications are used against chicken diseases and pests.
Beekeeping
- Bee hives should be in good condition, and frames should be replaced in the necessary hives.
- The cleaning and maintenance of bees continue. Queen bees are given to hives without a queen bee. Weak hives are given syrup as a nutritional supplement.
- Various bee diseases and pests are treated with pesticides, and precautions are taken.
