Field Agriculture

  • Stubble breaking is carried out in harvested grain fields. Double and triple cropping is done in fallow fields for weed control and green manure needs.

Fruit Cultivation

  • It is the time for dormant bud grafting. Pruning operations are carried out to thin the fruit, prevent water evaporation, and include shoot thinning, leaf removal, and cutting some branches. Regular watering is done, and fertilizer solutions are applied. Weeding and hoeing continue.

Vegetable Cultivation

  • Vegetable gardens are prepared for autumn harvest.
  • Autumn-harvested vegetables and second crop vegetables are planted.
  • Vegetables are watered frequently. Hoeing continues throughout the month. Fertilizers are applied in liquid form. Thinning and hilling are done in vegetables.

  • Harvesting, packaging, and transportation to the market continue for all types of vegetables.

Viticulture

  • Soil cultivation in vineyards has ceased.
  • No planting is done.
  • Tip pruning, shoot thinning, leaf thinning, removing suckers and tendrils, lateral pruning, and tying to stakes continue in vineyards. Maintenance tasks such as irrigation and hoeing are carried out.
  • Efforts are made to combat all kinds of vine diseases and pests.
  • Grape harvesting begins. In addition to packaging and transportation to the market, various processing methods are also employed. Especially, drying processes start at the end of the month.

Animal Husbandry

  • Since animals are mostly outside and in pastures, stable work is minimal. In areas where stall feeding is practiced, the barns should be kept clean, well-ventilated, and disinfection should continue.
  • While animals graze in pastures, supplementary feeding is provided in case of feed shortages. Special feeding should be done, especially for calves and lambs. Lambs born in the spring start to be sheared.
  • In warm regions, ram mating is done to obtain early offspring in the spring.
  • Grasslands, the harvest of fodder plants continues. The grass is dried, baled, gathered, and stored.
  • Efforts to combat all kinds of animal diseases and pests continue.

Poultry farming

  • Ventilation, cleaning, and disinfection work in the poultry houses continue.
  • Chickens are fed various feeds along with plenty of greens. Chickens are released into suitable stubble. Care should be taken in the feeding of chicks and young chickens.
  • Efforts continue to combat various poultry diseases and pests.

Beekeeping

  • Hives should be kept clean and functional. Hives are moved to places with abundant flowers without shaking them.
  • Weak hives should be merged.
  • Diseases and pests are combated.
  • Honey harvesting continues.
